The PL-6315 implements complete baseband signal processing function for a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. It combines acquisition search engine, 48-channel, equivalent to 4,000k/sec time-frequency windows, 32-bit RISC, and related peripherals into a single ASIC. Higher level of integration, lower power consumption, and added functionality are achieved at reduced system cost. A complete small footprint GPS receiver can be designed using only the PL-6315, GPS down-converter, external memory, and few discrete components.

The acquisition search engine is designed to provide fast acquisition of satellite signals, and the 48-channel can track up to 16 satellites simultaneously. Any channel may be initialized to receive WAAS or EGNOS signal. Each may be deactivated when not required to track full 16 satellites, reducing overall power consumption and processor load.

The processor section contains a high performance 32-bit RISC, interrupt controller, programmable memory I/O interface, serial I/O, parallel I/O, general purpose I/O, timer, real-time clock, SPI master and debug support unit.

we'll be self-criticism.
